As I prepare to record and edit my very first episode of A Lifetime of Happiness, I look back on what brought me to choose now as the the time to make a podcast and why I chose this as the topic.
Thanks to a series of fortunate events I am currently the happiest I have ever been in my life. At age 34, I consider it an accomplishment because I have so much ahead of me to look forward to.
My age and profession in Senior Living also give me a unique perspective on aging. All of my friends have kids ranging in age from ‘literally born yesterday’ to ‘you are too young to be a grandparent’. Meanwhile, other than a handful of exceptions, the majority of my colleagues are one to three decades older than me. Finally, being that my work centers around senior citizens, I regularly get the privilege of working with seniors that have led long and full lives. I see firsthand every day how happiness changes over the generations.
With this unique experience, rather than focusing on the negative aspects of aging that many of us spend hundred and thousands of hours (and/or dollars) avoiding, I want to focus on the positive aspects, including discovering secrets of happiness.
I know for a fact that I will be able to introduce you to some amazing individuals that will give you some new insights into how you might view your own happiness. My hope is to help as many individuals as I can learn that we can all be a little bit happier with the right perspective!
